Load calculation procedure for electric-panel space heating

Penney (Westinghouse Electric and Manufacturing Company, East Pittsburgh, Pa.): I believe the authors are to be complimented for making such extensive calculations on the radiant transfer of heat between the various surfaces of a room. It is instructive to consider a basic equation for interchange of heat between surfaces as given in equation 1, even if its actual solution is so difficult that in the numerical calculations tabulated values obtained by graphical means must be resorted to. However, I question if these elaborate calculations for interchange by radiation are justified, unless the assumptions used in calculating the interchange by convection can be improved.
