Alliance Seeks to Stem Crisis Sparked by Metal Commodities Price Hikes

In a recent letter to Congress, the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) and partners in the Mechanical-Electrical-Sheet Metal Alliance are demanding emergency government action in response to the hard-hitting, steep increases in the cost of products made from steel, copper, and aluminum and a decrease in the availability of critical commodities. As a member of the Alliance, NECA has joined in sending a letter to Congress, the White House, and the General Services Administration seeking additional action, including that Congress immediately conduct hearings and request a federal investigation of the emergency steel situation as well as serious dislocations in other critical metal commodities.
