Other tradespeople can cause electrical problems. Not only when they wire, but even sticking to their own work, they inadvertently can put our installations into violation of the NEC. This can mean that we look like careless installers, that we fail final inspection, even that we face liability claims. At worst, their oversights can endanger people and property. Take painting. It's a pity when paint or grout glues a cover plate to a wall, or a device to a plate. For access to the device, we have to cut the paint, a hassle at least. Loading up a switch with paint so it doesn't operate freely is worse.
