Last month, I wrote that, as temperatures vary outdoors, PVC conduit changes length sufficiently, meaning that expansion fittings frequently are required. I gave examples showing that in the Washington, D.C./suburban Maryland area, you can't run anything approaching a single length outside before Section 352.44 says you need an expansion fitting, based on numbers I discussed in September's column, "Outside Ambient." The same is true in the Philadelphia area, I'm told.
