James stallcup's first code comments column ("WorkingSpace," March 2007) addressed a question I had been fussing over: What equipment requires safe working space? I'm going to address that, not as a National Electrical Code authority, merely as an installer who was confronted with it and asked authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs) how they rule.
