A wire above the rest When pulling multiple runs of stranded conductors, Category 5 cable or speaker wire through a single large-diameter conduit, use a small- bore soft drink bottle as a wire "comber." Run a piece of pull string through the bottle, and tape it well to attach the cables and the fish tape or pull string at the opposite ends. The bottle will "float" up to and on top of the previous runs and make room, pulling the new run above the others and eliminating that awful cable birds-nest you wind up with when the fish tape wraps around and through the previous runs. It seems too simple, but it works like a charm.
