NECA-IBEW Training Centers Awarded More Than $20 Million In Stimulus Grants To Grow A Greener Workforce

A "Green Jobs Curriculum" Is Beingrntaught at most NECA-IBEW electrical training centers across the nation. Now, some centers that have taken the lead in green energy training will be able to expand their focus on preparing a cadre of electrical workers who can enable their employing electrical contractors to offer their customers "Green Solutions."rnSecretary of Labor Hilda L. Solis recently announced nearly $100 million in green jobs training grants, as authorized by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (the "stimulus"). A total of 25 recipients received Energy Training Partnership Grants last month, and a handful of NECA-IBEW training partners are among the big winners.
