If you have to drill through wood with a hole saw and are having a tough time getting the wood out, drill a screw deep into the wood, leaving about a 1/4-in. of screw above the hole saw. Then use lineman's pliers and pull out the wood from the hole saw by pulling on the screw. Works like a charm. When replacing or upgrading a panel, I mark the conductors with the circuit number as they are removed from the breaker, so it is easier to make the new panel directory. As the conductors are connected to the new breakers, I mark the edge of the panel with the circuit numbers for easier transfer of the directory.
