When I work in a wet trench installing conduits, I'll get quite dirty and have wet shoes and pants. This isn't good, especially if I'm heading to a another job on the same day and don't have the time to switch clothes. When this happens, I use the garbage bags that I carry in my van to surround my shoes and pants. Then I wrap some parts of the bag with tape to keep it tight and easier to walk around in. This keeps my pants and shoes clean and dry for the next job. When working on an extension ladder, stick a wad of electrical duct seal on the run at your working height level, and stick your screws and wire nuts into the duct seal to hold them in place until you need them. No more digging through your pouch or pockets to find them. The duct can be removed and resealed.
