To showcase the exceptional work performed by our member-contractors throughout the country, the National Electrical Contractors Asso-ciation created the Project Excellence Awards to recognize companies for their outstanding commitment, professionalism and ingenuity in delivering an electrical project across 12 different market sectors. The 2021 Project Excellence Awards will recognize outstanding projects completed by NECA members in 2020. The annual program, judged by a group of industry experts, considers project submissions based on aesthetics, application, difficulty, innovation and originality. The Project Excellence Awards have a history of awarding truly innovative work across NECA's membership. In 2020, award winners included such projects as Google's Vortex Fixture, completed by J&M Brown Company, which features a multi-story light fixture that changes color set inside the office lobby staircase. Other winners included the Sumner Bridge Street Bridge Replacement, completed by Amaya Electric, and the Gardenville Substation, by O'Connell Electric.
