Security of multimedia session signalling in IP networks

摘要

This paper introduces the text-based session initiation protocol (SIP) and its security mechanisms. The authors present and compare the two main security concepts of SIP, end-to-end security and hop-by-hop security. Hop-by-hop security enables trusted devices to apply desired services to the session signalling, end-to-end security provides a higher degree of security.
