Innovations- und Technologieförderung für Transport und Verkehr in Österreich - das Förderprogramm IV2S - Intelligente Verkehrssysteme und Services (2002-2006)

Der Einsatz neuer Technologien und innovativer Systeme im Verkehr ist ein wesentlicher Faktor für ein funktionierendes Verkehrssystem unter den in Zukunft steigenden Anforderungen des Güter- und Personenverkehrs. Das strategische Forschungs- und Innovationsprogramm IV2S des Bundesministeriums für Verkehr, Innovation und Technologie (bmvit) 2002-2006 ist ein wesentlicher Beitrag zur gesamtösterreichischen Forschungsoffensive. Die Ergebnisse der bisherigen Aktivitäten zeigen, dass die eingesetzten Fördermittel von ca. 50 Mio. Euro einen wesentlichen Impuls für den Verkehrssektor bedeuten und damit ein technologischer Aufholprozess im europäischen Umfeld erfolgreich stimuliert wurde. Die konsequente Weiterverfolgung des Programms IV2S in den kommenden Jahren wird auch die Erfolgsquote von österreichischen Unternehmen in Forschungs- und Entwicklungsinitiativen der Europäischen Union (z. B. 7. Rahmenprogramm für Forschung und Entwicklung 2007-2010) erhöhen. Die hohe Forschungsquote im Verkehrsbereich (bis zu 12,3%) zeigt die Innovationskraft der österreichischen Unternehmen und stärkt sowohl den Industriestandort als auch die Bildung eines attraktiven, leistungsfähigen, sicheren und umweltverträglicheren Verkehrssystems in Österreich.%The strategic research and development initiative (Intelligent Transport Systems and Services) of the Federal Ministry for Transport, Innovation and Technology in Austria covers an essential part of the overall research and development activities in Austria. The initiative has been started in 2002, where funds for research and development projects of an amount over 50 Mio. Euro have been spent. The overall results of this projects show, that the Austrian industry has significantly contributed to push Austria to the top ranked research and development nations in Europe in this field. This means as well, that the Austrian government will continue this initiative in the coming years to support the increasing participation and success of the Austrian transport community within the 7. Framework Program for Research and Development of the European Commission. Innovative products in the transport sector show the innovation capacity of this industry sector (research rate up to 12.3 %) which is far beyond the average research rate in Austria (2.43 % in 2006) this forms the basis for a positive continuous development in Austria strengthening the economic power as we/I as an attractive, efficient, safe and sustainable transport system in Austria.
