Accounting acronyms pale beside those encountered in tax research. There are LTRs, GCMs, AFRs, MMSPs, and TDs, to narme a few. Welcome to my world of tax research, in which I support the research needs of Arthur Andersen's Tax and Audit practices. My previous article on accounting research ("Sailing on the AccountanSea: Accounting Research Sources," DATABASE, June 1999) detailed the intricacies of that type of research. How did I figure out the tax piece of the pie?
