A Response to Schwarzwalder's 'Manifesto'

Leave it to Bob to throw down the gauntlet. In fact, it was this very characteristic—his fearless, independent staking out a position—that caused me to hire Bob as a reference librarian at Michigan 15 years ago. So let me now, as a professor in the School of Information at the University of Michigan, respond to Bob's "Manifesto" (The Technophile, EContent, February 2000, pp. 60-63).
