Future Publishing Restructures to Focus on Digital Publishing

Future Publishing Ltd., which publishes a variety of magazines such as T3, Total Film, and Guitar World, will be selling or closing several of its print titles and laying off 100 staff members as part of a shift to focus primarily on digital publishing instead of print. According to a report in The Guardian, the titles being closed or sold include DVD & Blu-ray Review, Home Cinema Choice, and Photoshop Focus Guides. Earlier this year, Future announced that it had experienced a 45% decline in pretax profits for the first portion of the year and that its U.S. business had witnessed declining advertising revenue.
