Energy security is a major concern of governments, businesses and, increasingly, consumers. While oil-producing countries are becoming more politically assertive, those who depend on them are becoming increasingly unsettled by the rise of resource nationalism. Risk of a terrorist threat to key infrastructure, increased demand from developing nations and the volatility of oil prices have also pushed the issue to the top of the agenda in every region of the world.
