It is a pleasure to read a book that not only does important analytical work, but develops that analysis to take a position on the state of the world, a book that asks questions it then modestly, but painstakingly, tries to answer. Andrew Cumbers's Reclaiming Public Ownership is that kind of book. Part of the reward of reading it, then, comes not only from working through the research upon which it is based, but from being given clear answers to chew on. Some answers will seem compelling, others less so. But they are there to be engaged in clear and well-organized form.
