With the advent of simple and easy-to-use multi-drop digital interfaces, temperature sensors using both contact and non-contact approaches are easily integrated to provide "smart" temperature sensor networks. This new family of "smart" temperature sensors provide the designer with extraordinary flexibility and ease of implementation for applications that range from the production floor to inside industrial equipment or just on the R&D bench.
