SMD Resistor Handles Up To 12 Watts

The HPC12 from Stackpole SMD resistive device. It is free air, but can handle 12 W continuously with 400 lfm air movement on standard recommended solder pads with no heat sink needed. Its housing provides heat transfer to the ambient air from the thick film element. The terminals are attached with high temperature solder and can withstand a full minute in a 300C bath with no degradation. In addition, the HPC12 can withstand surges of over 2000 W for pulse durations of <10 μs.
