Internal Short Circuits and Safety Standards

摘要

A review of the publicly available Lithium-ion battery safety research shows a strong focus on understanding and mitigating cell failure modes, specifically those due to internal short circuits. Though only brief accounts of field failures are available, in some cases, the presence of manufacturing defects has been noted to lead to internal short circuits within the cell.
