While Australia is still recovering from a series of weather-related disasters in 2011 – extensive flooding in south-eastnQueensland and Victoria, Cyclone Yasi, and bushfires in Perth – the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administrationn(NOAA) has identified a new record for the US, witha dozen billion-dollar weather disasters in a single year.
