The perivolcanic zone of the Okhotsk-Chukot vol-canogenic belt (OCVB) is characterized by the Late Cretaceous auxiliary structures of large volcanic depressions, representing tectonomagmatic activation zones (TMA) confined to deep faults in the basement (Fig. 1). These structures are accompanied by magma-tism, metamorphism, and characteristic metallogeny. They are superimposed upon folded structures of the Yana-Kolyma system (Fig. 1). In the late 1990s, commercial prospects of rare metals were discovered in alkaline volcanic rocks in the Hurchan-Orotukan tectonomagmatic activation zone (TMZ).
