摘要

Quasi-anisotropy of a natural medium is not taken into consideration in the routine processing of data provided by the method of reflected waves, because vertical velocity in an anisotropic medium cannot be derived from the traveltime curve. The present communication shows that a solution (sufficiently stable for practical application) can be obtained for the seismic problem mentioned above if the arrival times and first derivatives of waves reflected from the upper and lower boundaries of each layer, rather than the solitary travel-time curve of reflected waves, are considered as the source.
