摘要

Neodymium, strontium, and oxygen isotopic variations in the within-plate alkali basaltic series are determined by the composition of deep-seated mantle sources. The isotopic-geochemical systematics of basalts from long-lived active volcanic centers revealed a distinct source evolution, which is expressed in the composition of rocks of different stages in the emergence of an edifice, for instance, of Haleakala Volcano in Hawaii. The isotopic composition of the volcanic rocks in the continental rift zones also depends on mixing between mantle and crustal components.
