The East European Platform (EEP) is characterized by a relatively low seismicity level. Therefore, for many decades it was not included in the list of regions for priority interest of seismologists. The situation started to change only at the end of the 20th century in relation to the development of nuclear power stations and especially with the introduction of new safety standards after the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power station. Until recently, the main knowledge about the seismicity of this vast region was confined to written data on the seismic events of the historical period [1, 2].
