AUSTRALIA IN VENICE:SHAUN GLADWELL

Australia offers an opportunity in Venice to young talents. In the pavilion at the Giardini is the presentation of five videos by Shaun Gladwell, considered one of the most interesting emerging talents of the moment. Filmed in the spectacular landscape of the outback, the videos are inspired by the cult film Mad Max. Meanwhile, a second exhibition entitled "Once Removed" is presented at the Ludoteca. Curated by Felicity Fenner, it presents installations created by four very different artists at the start of their careers: indigenous Vernon Ah Kee's Cant Chant (Wegrewhere), Ken Yonetani, Japanese but based in Australia, and Australian duo Claire Healy and Sean Cordeiro.
