D JEWELLER'S IN PAMPLONA

Located in a 30-metre-squared shop in the city centre, this project strives to generate an atmosphere - a universe rather than a business space. The store's deep, narrow, rectangular geometry must contain the elements of a jeweller's, and the result is a small black hole in the midst of the urban magma.rnAt the same time the project seeks a return to the magical and archaic fascination surrounding jewels as precious and rare objects. Instead of a conventional shop layout clogged with display cases dripping with jewellery, this is a space in which to exhibit the valuable pieces as unique, exclusive items. The mysterious, strange ambience created for this purpose is oriental but also constrainedly baroque. It arises from a kind of geometry that embraces the space as if it were a jewellery case that can hold exceptional gems with the appropriate delicacy and mystery.
