DEEP SURFACES

Eclectic and polyhedral, Karim Rashid is one of the few protagonists of contemporary design who has been able to establish his own immediately recognisable style. Proof of this can be seen in his latest design and graphics project developed for Abet Laminati. The Digitalia Collection is a mixed range of decorations made up of 28 patterns, created by digitally printing onto laminated surfaces. Derived from the Optical experience, studies of Gestalt and anamorphism, Rashid's shapes are able to stimulate and engage the spectator in a tourbillon of oneiric and inviting effects that induce states of perceptive instability.
