This book on Carla De Benedetti's photographs of the 1970s opens with the interiors of the Brion apartment (1962-70) in Milan, designed by Franco Albini and Franca Helg. The austere Milanese house-museum was fixed in our memories with black-and-white pictures, which then gave rnway to the refined chromatisms of the era's colour photographs. And so we discovered how the neutral tones of the walls dialogued with the colours in the canvases by Mario Sironi, Felice Casorati, Massimo Campigli and Giuseppe Capogrossi.
