Leaving mechanical control behind, Kokuyo presented a chair featuring "air veins" at Orgatec 2008, developed in collaboration with Japanese designer Shunji Yamanaka. The air flows between the back and seat, regulated by a special valve. The seat adapts to the user's body by activating independent air cushions incorporated in the surface of the back and seat. The user experiences a feeling of comfortable fluid sitting. The principle of "air veins" works irrespective of the user's weight or posture.
