Michele IV Lucchi was among the protagonists in the avant-garde movements of the 1970s and '80s. Head of Design Olivetti from 1992 to 2002, he has directed numerous projects for leading Italian and foreign furniture manufacturers. He has refurbished and erected buildings in Japan and Germany, and in Italy for firms including Enel, Olivetti, Piaggio, the Italian Post Office and Telecom Italia. In 1990 he set up Produ/ione Privata. Several of his objects are displayed in major museums worldwide. In 2001 he was nominated ''Distinguished" Professor at the Istitulo Universilario di Architettura (IUAV) in Venice.
