Wikimania is the annual Wikipedia gathering, this year held from 4 to 6 August. It dedicated more than 100 talks and workshops to exploring the directions that the world's most widely read online encyclopaedia might or should take. Up and running for ten years, a study has found that most of its contributors are also growing older. This has prompted a new focus of the Wikimedia Foundation and all its affiliated associations-to draw in new users, as well as cultural institutions, experts and the Global South.
