Since its reopening in 2008, after extensive revitalisation led by the museum's managing trustee and curator Tasneem Zakaria Mehta, it has become an active city space for contemporary art exhibitions, initiating a strikingly original dialogue between the worlds of design, art, architecture and society by juxtaposing the historical with the contemporary. The Intersections seminar was conceived to address this bridging of related disciplines by inviting artists, designers, curators and architects to dialogue and present their modes of praxis.
