Bathroom

The bathroom is traditionally the most "closed" space in the house, with "well-defined" forms and "specialised" functions. This selection of proposals from the manufacturing world presented on the following pages, on the other hand, illustrates an "open", "undefined" and "polyhedral" space. These products and designs seem to tell us that the bathroom of "02.2012" tends both towards the "-" and the "+". It can be tailor-made for individual wellbeing and for extra-small spaces, or measure up to the broad horizons of environmental sustainability and super-luxury, open-planned spaces. It is a system connected with invisible technology that extends to include other rooms in the house, or a world that captivates the senses with state-of-the-art materials and timeless forms. It is a "bathroom/anti-bathroom" that overturns more conventional images and suggests an array of new uses and design ideas.%II bagno è tradizionalmente lo spazio domestico più 'chiuso', 'definito' nelle forme e 'specializzato' nelle funzioni. La rassegna di proposte provenienti dal mondo della produzione, raccolta nelle pagine seguenti, illustra viceversa un ambiente 'aperto', 'indefinito' e 'poliedrico'.
