DESIGNING ME TIME

The exploration of the "sense of the object" was promoted by Hermes with its international Prix in 2007. Now in its 3rd edition, it calls on designers and engineers under 40 to express themselves on a theme as intriguing as it is hard to translate into substance - time for ourselves. We are asked to reflect on the growing need to escape the frenzy of our everyday lives and take time out. The three winners will receive prizes of 50,000, 25,000 and 15,000 euros, respectively, from the jury chairman Michele De Lucchi next May. Online registration is open until 17 November. The prototypes of the finalists' designs will be produced between 1 January and 31 March 2014.
