摘要

For the Rassegna feature on materials in Domus issue 974 (November 2013), we spoke of multiplicity and a loss of consistency as being specific characteristics of contemporary materials. In other words, a single material or component can respond to a plurality of demands and functions on one hand, and on the other we see increased performance corresponds to progressive reduction in the weight and thickness of materials, a loss of consistency compared to the solidity of the ancient materials handed down to us.
