The sometimes perverse, melancholic and even comical use of ruins in art from the 17th century to the present is the focus of the Tate Britain exhibition "Ruin Lust", curated by Brian Dillon, Emma Chambers and Amy Concannon (until 18.5.2014). The largest exhibition ever organised on this subject, it features more than 100 works by artists such as J.M.W. Turner, John Constable, John Martin, Eduardo Paolozzi, Rachel Whiteread and Tacita Dean, the latter of whom explores decadent imagery in her film Kodak 2006.
