An exhibition at the extraordinary Serralves Museum of Contemporary Art designed by Alvaro Siza, is about the language of architecture instead of buildings themselves. "Architectonisation" (until 31.5.2015) is Portugal's first exhibition on Monika Sosnowska (1972). The Polish artist's sculptural work occupies seven of its largest rooms, becoming an integral part of them and injecting fresh life into the museum spaces. The artwork, made since 2003, includes corridor and pavilion structures that create alternative routes based on the flux of visitors through them. There are sculptures that allude to collapse and fragmentation, and large wrought-iron pieces composed of structural elements of buildings on a 1:1 scale, fused to create hanging monumental elements. Smaller works reveal Sosnowka's investigative attention to details of materials and forms.
