ON KAWARA IN 12 CHAPTERS

The New York Guggenheim is showing the first major On Kawara (1933-2014) retrospective (6.2-3.5.2015), organised by Jeffrey Weiss in close cooperation with the artist, who devised its 12 chapters. It includes every category of his output (1963-2013), among others his monochrome paintings (the Today series), telegrams (I Am Still Alive), postcards (I Got Up, photo left), city maps (I Went), lists of people encountered in one day (I Met) and vast calendars (One Hundred Years and One Million Years).
