An immense retable, more than half a kilometre long, created by the South African artist along the embankment walls of the Tiber, adds a new concept of the monument to our contemporaneity. Like a Trajan Column of our time, it depicts the ancient history of the Eternal City, dedicated not to posterity but to the people living in this present time.
