Deyan Sudjic (1952) studied architecture at the University of Edinburgh. In 1983 he co-founded and directed the magazine Blueprint. He has been an architecture critic for numerous British newspapers; a visiting professor at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna and the Royal College of Art in London; and a curator of exhibitions in Copenhagen, Istanbul and London. In 2002 he directed the Venice Architecture Biennale. From 2000 to 2003, he was the editor-in-chief of Domus. Since 2006 he has been the director of the Design Museum in London. In late 2016 he will be moving into a new house in Kensington, built in 1962 and renovated by John Pawson. His writings have been published in Italian by Laterza (// Linguaggio delle Cose, Architettura e Potere). His most recent book, a biography of Ettore Sottsass, was published by Phaidon. His next book, The Language of Cities, is due out with Penguin at the end of August 2016.
