Flavio Albanese (1951) conducted his. professional training outside academia, acquiring lengthy and polymorphous experience in the fields of architecture and design. He has taught at the Ecole Polytechnique Federals in Lausanne, the Art Institute in Chicago (1980) and the IUAV in Venice (2009-2010). He has held conferences at universities in Italy and abroad, including Yale University in Connecticut (1983), Delft University of Technology in The Netherlands (2005), University of Florida (2006), and the Fundaci6n Proa in Buenos Aires (2008). He has been a member of the academic committee at Domus Academy in Milan (2004-2005), a member of the honorary committee at the Miart trade show in Milan (2009-2010); the director of the Officina del Porto di Palermo (2006-2008); and the vice-president of the Centro Internazionale di Studi di Architettura Andrea Palladio in Vicenza (2011-2015). From 2007 to 2010 he was the editor-in-chief of Domus. In 1987, with his brother Franco, he founded the architecture firm ASA Studio Albanese in Vicenza. The firm's projects have been published in major international architecture and design magazines, and were selected for the Venice Biennale of Architecture in 2004 and 2006. The Neores project was shortlisted for the 2003 Mies van der Rohe award. Flavio Albanese is the current president of the Fondazione Teatro Comunale Citta di Vicenza.
