Delicate, ironie, elegant and never banal, Christoph Niemann's illustrations take centre stage at the Cartoonmuseum in Basel (until 29.10.2017). "That's How" gathers together 120 original works -drawings, prints, elaborated photos and animations - that summarise his intense and poetic view of reality. Niemann, who currently resides in Berlin and actively collaborates with the New Yorker,, Time and Wired, was called a "master of metaphor", able to offer a simple, intelligible and oftentimes ironic form to complex, many-sided matters. The exhibition also investigates the great variety of the experimental techniques he uses in his constant search for the most appropriate means to give shape to an idea.%Delicate, ironiche, eleganti e mai banali, le illustrazioni di Christoph Niemann sono protagoniste al Cartoonmuseum di Basilea (fino al 29.10.2017). "That's How" raccoglie 120 originali - disegni, stampe, fotografie manipolate e animazioni - che ne riassumono lo sguardo acuto e poetico sulla realtà. Niemann, che attualmente vive a Berlino e che collabora attivamente con il New Yorker, Time e Wired, è stato definito un "maestro della metafora", capace di dare una forma semplice, intellegibile e spesso ironica anche alle questioni più sfaccettate e complesse. La mostra permette inoltre una riconigizione tra la grande varietà delle tecniche sperimentali usate dall'artista alla costante ricerca dei mezzi espressivi più idonei per dare forma a un'idea.
