There is a planet

After Stanze del Vetro di Venezia (April-July) and the Vitra Design Museum (1 4.7-27.9.201 7), the Triennale di Milano now celebrates the 100th anniversary of Ettore Sottsass's birth. "There is a Planet" (15.9.2017-25.3.2018) - curated by Barbara Radice with exhibition design by Michele De Lucchi and graphics by Christoph Radi - is named after a project by Sottsass from the 1990s for the German publisher Wasmuth. The book (previously unpublished; now issued by Electa) gathers the photos taken by Sottsass during his travels around the world: architecture, homes and people compose a visual reflection on living and, more in general, on man's presence on the planet. The show unfolds across nine themed rooms, with short quotations from the versatile designer's writings.
