Re-nylon, Prada bags in regenerated nylon by 2021

Together with the Italian textile company Aquafil, Prada has started to replace its traditional nylon with Econy®, a cutting-edge and innovative recycled nylon, made with salvaged plastic from the oceans, fishing nets and textile waste that is then recycled and purified. Econyl®, thanks to a unique process of depoly-merisation and repolymerisation, can be recycled forever without any loss in quality. The Re-Nylon collection began in July with a capsule collection of six classic models, but the goal is to convert the entire production process of virgin nylon by the end of 2021. A part of the earnings will be devolved to projects that support environmental sustainability.
