摘要

The photosynthetic apparatus of purple bacteria is one of the simplest systems for the collection and transformation of solar energy as compared to similar systems in other organisms (algae, plants, etc.). It consists of three types of pigment-protein complexes (PPCs): two light-harvesting complexes (LH1 and LH2) , which transmit energy to the third PPC, a photochemically active reaction center, where the primary charge separation takes place.
