NEC has developed an 8bit microcontroller, the μPD78F9306/789306 sub series, the μPD78F9316/ 789316 sub series, the μPD789426 sub series, the μPD78F9456/789456 sub series. In addition to a 78K/oS CPU, they incorporate a com- prehensive set of peripheral equipment. The units of peripheral equipment are configured by the CLD con- troller/driver, timers, 3 wire serial I/F function, UART and I/O port.
