Moghadam looks at the relationship between market reforms and social problems, and the implications of these problems for women's economic status and their productive and reproductive activities. The article is based on a preliminary analysis of the immediate impact on women of economic restructuring in two regions: Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) and Russia and Vietnam and China.
