Grassroot Women Organizing: the Working Women's Forum experience

Working with a large number of poor who are relegated to what is generally known as the informal sector, one has to have a fair knowledge of systems of work opportunities available in a developing country like India. Despite hard work, suffering, due to abject poverty and indebtedness, continues to be a harsh reality. Unskilled and non-technical in nature, these workers have neither a steady place of employment nor a fixed employer. Their labour is considered cheap and disposable.
