In the last five years, women's NGOs have played an increasingly important and visible role in international policy-making. During that same period, WEDO filled a unique niche and provided a service for women's organizations around the world. Governed by an international board, the majority of whom are from the global South, and staffed by an international, inter-generational team, WEDO has created a mechanism for connecting the women's movement to different parts of civil society, sectors, forums and bodies at the international policy level. By working hand in hand with other networks, WEDO has amplified its political impact. The impact of the Women's Caucus is far greater than anything WEDO alone could have developed.
